1. Heliodome solar house
The Heliodome solar house, near Strasbourg (eastern France) is designed as a giant three-dimensional sundial, placed at a fixed angle in correlation with the movement of sunlight. 2. Wooden house in Arkhangelsk city, Russia
The wooden house built in the city of Arkhangelsk, Russia is considered the tallest wooden house in the world. The house has a 13-storey design and is 44m high, half the size of the Big Ben tower in London.
3. Haewoojae, South Korea
Haewoojae House has a toliet-shaped design in Suwon, about 46km south of Seoul (South Korea). The house was built as part of a campaign calling on people to pay attention to environmental sanitation and to equip a toilet in the house.
4. Cubehouse, Netherlands
The bizarre cube-shaped houses in Rotterdam and Helmond were designed by Dutch architect Piet Bloom. The top part of the house is tilted at a 45 degree angle, creating an illusion for viewers. This design helps light from everywhere shine inside the house. Now, Cube House has become a tourist attraction in the Netherlands.
5. Wozoco Apartments, Netherlands
Explaining the idea of building this project, MVRDV Architecture Company said that the original design with apartments could not fit within the apartment complex. Therefore, they thought of placing some apartments in special locations to increase space.
6. Sharp Center, Canada
Why build an ordinary school when you can do something better? Architect Will Aslop, of the Ontario College of Art and Design, Canada, answered that question with the colorful and unusual Sharp Center building. Even though the supported floor area is quite small, the project is still very balanced and safe.
